The Marlborough wine region consists of a number of valleys, however, the main two valleys are the Wairau and the Awatere Valleys. Most of the cellar doors are located within the Wairau Valley while the only current exception is Peter Yealands, located in the Awatere Valley. As a result our Marlborough wine region tour is in the Wairau Valley. The Awatere Valley is about 25 Kilometers south of the Wairau Valley and due to a cooler climate has a longer ripening time.
